
JAGTIAL, OCTOBER 01, 2026: On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of SKNR Government Arts & Science College, Jagtial, participated in a voluntary blood donation programme organised at the Government Hospital, Jagtial, and donated blood for the benefit of patients in need on Thursday.
The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students and the public about the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraging young people to come forward and contribute to saving lives. The NCC cadets and NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in the programme and demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility and community service.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Srinivas, DM&HO and Dy. DM&HO, appreciated the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers for their voluntary service and active participation in the blood donation programme. He emphasized that regular voluntary blood donation is a valuable humanitarian service and that donated blood can play a crucial role in saving the lives of accident victims, surgical patients, pregnant women and others requiring emergency medical care.
Prof. Adepu Srinivas, Vice-Principal, SKNR GASC Jagtial, appreciated the students for their spirit of service and stated that such activities help students develop social responsibility, compassion and a sense of commitment towards society. He encouraged the students to continue participating in community-oriented programmes.
Lt. Parlapalli Raju, NCC Officer and Associate Professor of Zoology, stated that blood donation is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways of serving humanity. He said that the participation of NCC cadets in such programmes reflects the core values of the NCC—discipline, leadership, selfless service and social responsibility. He encouraged eligible students to donate blood voluntarily and inspire others to do the same.
P Srinivas, NSS Programme Officer, Unit-II, also appreciated the NSS volunteers for their active participation and highlighted the role of NSS in motivating students to engage in community service and humanitarian activities.
NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, college faculty and medical staff participated in the programme. The event concluded with a message to students and the public that “Blood Donation is a Gift of Life” and that voluntary blood donation can make a significant difference to individuals and families facing medical emergencies.
The college authorities appreciated the NCC and NSS units for organising and participating in this noble humanitarian initiative and encouraged students to continue contributing to society through such socially responsible activities.
