RAMAGUNDAM, SEPTEMBER 24, 2026: The Irrigation officials have decided to open the flood gates of the Sripada Yellampalli Project in Ramagundam mandal following the heavy inflows into the project due to the incessant rains in its catchment area on Thursday evening.
The Yellampalli project has a total of 19.2863 tmcs of water against its full storage capacity of 20.1754 tmcs on Thursday night. Presently, the project is receiving inflows of 8519 cusecs of water from the Kadem project and another 15,020 cusecs from its catchment areas.
The officials are releasing 252 cusecs of water to Hyderabad Metro water works and 121 cusecs to NTPC Ramagundam. As the project is receiving steady inflows, the irrigation authorities have decided to release the surplus water into the Godavari River on Thursday night.
