
SIDDIPET, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026: Kaveri University, Gowraram, Telangana, hosted distinguished agricultural experts from Africa, marking an important step towards strengthening international collaboration in agriculture, research, innovation and higher education, on Friday.
Mr. Jitu Vrajlal Soni, Board Chairperson, Agricultural Council of Tanzania (ACT), and Mr. Munyaradzi Jonga, Agronomist and Seed Production & Quality Assurance Manager, Seed Co Ltd., Stapleford, Zimbabwe, and associated with the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), Nairobi, Kenya, visited Kaveri University.
During the visit, Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. Praveen Rao briefed the delegates on the academic, research, innovation and agricultural initiatives of Kaveri University. He highlighted the University’s vision for developing international partnerships and discussed opportunities for future collaboration in research, technology development, faculty and student exchange programmes, academic activities and knowledge sharing.
The discussions also explored the possibility of entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kaveri University and relevant international agricultural organisations/institutions to promote collaborative research, academic exchange, capacity building and student exposure to global agricultural practices.
The distinguished visitors appreciated the initiatives of Kaveri University and expressed interest in exploring mutually beneficial areas of collaboration in agriculture, seed technology, research and innovation.
The meeting was attended by Dr. B. Srinivasulu, Registrar; Dr. P. U. Krishnaraj, Director of Research & Innovations; Dr. K. Srinivas, Dean; Dr. G. Pushpa Latha, Dean; Dr. Sunitha Mehta, Dean, Kaveri University; and Mr. Manish Tyagi, General Manager, Kaveri Seeds, along with other university representatives.
The visit is expected to pave the way for stronger India–Africa academic, agricultural and research partnerships, contributing to knowledge exchange, innovation and the development of future-ready agricultural solutions.
