HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026: The Department of Chemistry, in association with the NSS Unit, Government Degree College, Rajendranagar, organised a World Ozone Day awareness programme and quiz competition to create awareness among students about the importance of protecting the ozone layer on Wednesday.
Students actively participated in the quiz and delivered PowerPoint presentations on ozone, the ozone layer, ozone depletion, its importance, and the need for ozone-layer preservation.
Principal M. Himabindu addressed the gathering and emphasised environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. S. D. Bhavani, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, explained the scientific importance of ozone protection and encouraged students to contribute to environmental conservation.
M Satyanarayana, S. Ravinder Reddy, and other faculty members also participated in the programme and encouraged the students. The programme concluded with the message: “Protect the Ozone Layer, Preserve Life on Earth.”
