KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 12, 2026: Students of Achievers Active High School, Kothi Rampur, Karimnagar, have launched a unique campaign to educate people to worship clay Ganesh idols by taking out a rally and distributing clay idols of Lord Ganesha to the devotees on Saturday.
On the eve of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, the students dressed up as Lord Ganesha and other mythological characters took out a procession in the vicinity of the school and distributed clay idols. They distributed around 200 clay idols to the residents of the town. The passersby stopped after seeing the students and collected the clay idols from them.
Speaking on the occasion, School Director Chermala Venkateshwarlu said that the use of Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols was causing environmental pollution and affecting the water bodies and their flora and fauna. “We need to keep the spirit of the festival intact, but not harm the ecosystem by using idols made of PoP,” he said and appealed to the people to worship clay idols.
Principal Ch Pallavi has appealed to the people of the town to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi by worshipping clay idols and protect the environment from pollution. In the subsequent cultural programme, students performed skits and shared information about Vinayaka Chavithi through songs and speeches.
A skit based on the theme of Vinayaka Chavithi, performed by the students, was a major highlight and captivated the audience.
