NALGONDA, SEPTEMBER 10, 2026: The Department of History and Tourism of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) in Nalgonda is hosting the 45th Annual Session of the South Indian History Congress, an initiative aimed at highlighting and celebrating the distinct historical attributes of South India.
During the release of the poster on Thursday, MGU Vice Chancellor Prof. Khaja Althaf Hussain announced that historians and faculty members from across South India will present their research papers during the Congress, scheduled for November 13 to 15. He emphasised that the gathering offers an exceptional chance to showcase MGU’s reputation and the rich historical background of Telangana.
The Vice Chancellor encouraged all departments to actively participate and contribute their utmost efforts to ensure the success of the prestigious event. K Vijaya Babu, Chairman of the Board of Studies in History, mentioned that over 1,200 historians from across the nation are expected to attend the significant intellectual gathering. Registrar Prof Koppula Anji Reddy, Principal of the the University College of Arts and Social Sciences Aruna Priya, Principal of the Science College Prof Vasantha, Engineering College Principal Harish Kumar, Management College Principal Dr. Sridevi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Business Management Prof Aluvala Ravi, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Miriyala Ramesh, Controller of Examinations G. Upender Reddy, NSS Programme Coordinator Maram Venkataramana Reddy, Sivaram, Hymavathi, teachers of the Department of History and Tourism Panasa Ramakrishna, Sharif, and Vivek were present.
