JAGTIAL, SEPTEMBER 03, 2026: An awareness programme on the prevention and eradication of ragging was conducted at the Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, on Thursday. The event was held under the presidency of Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna, who emphasised maintaining a disciplined, safe, and welcoming campus environment for all students.
Vice Principal Chandraiah addressed the gathering, urging senior students to guide and support their juniors like family rather than indulging in any form of harassment. He highlighted that the college maintains zero tolerance towards ragging.
Anti-Ragging Cell Coordinator N. Vasavi explained the legal consequences, institutional rules, and UGC regulations regarding anti-ragging measures. She encouraged students to speak up without fear and utilise the support systems available on campus.
Faculty members G. Srilatha, Ms. Irfana, and Ms. Sunitha attended and addressed the session. All girl students of the institution actively participated in the program and pledged to keep the college campus entirely ragging-free.
