KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 03, 2026: Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE) in Karimnagar town came alive with devotion, joy, and festive spirit as it celebrated Janmashtami (Krishnashtami) with great enthusiasm on its campus on Thursday. The celebration beautifully showcased the rich cultural traditions associated with Lord Krishna and created a vibrant atmosphere among the students and staff.
The programme featured colourful and engaging performances by the students. The students of Classes 1 and 2 presented graceful dance performances that added charm and joy to the celebrations. They also performed a skit depicting the birth of Lord Krishna, beautifully portraying the significance of the occasion and introducing the young audience to the inspiring story of Lord Krishna’s birth.
The highlight of the celebration was the traditional ‘Dahi Handi’ (utti breaking ceremony) event. Students of Classes 3, 4, and 5 enthusiastically participated in the event, filling the campus with excitement and festive cheer. Principal Dr. R. Reteesh also joined the students in the Dahi Handi, making the occasion even more memorable. Headmistress Mrs. V. Anitha took part in the celebrations and appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and wonderful performances.
The celebration provided the students with an opportunity to learn about the cultural and spiritual significance of Krishnashtami while fostering unity, teamwork, devotion, and joy among them.
The programme concluded on a cheerful note with the active participation of students and staff, making the Krishnashtami celebrations a memorable occasion for the entire school community.
