Closes two cafes in Bagh Lingampally and Panjagutta for operating without a valid FSSAI licence
Licence of Shadab Hotel at Madina was suspended, and management was instructed to stop business operations
HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 02, 2026: The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) had constituted nine teams from the Enforcement Wing, consisting of Food Safety Officers and the Police Personnel have conducted a special drive on cafes/ snack points in the Core Urban Region, wherein inspected (19) cafes/snack points were inspected.
The list of cafes/snack points inspected are given below
- Clock tower tea cafe, Secunderabad
- Blue Sea Cafe, Secunderabad
- Mirosa cafe, Himayathnagar
- Dreamz cafe, Bagh Lingampally
- Diamond point, Sikh village
- Imroz cafe, Ameerpet
- Adab, Nampally
- Cafe Persia, Nampally
- Friends cafe, Khairtabad
- Golden cafe, Khairtabad
- Persis, S R. Nagar
- Honeymoon cafe, Santhnagar
- Deccan cafe, Erragadda
- Nimrah cafe, Alijha kotla
- Shadab, Madina
- Taiba cafe, Masab Tank
- Irani chai, panjagutta
- Kaadhale, Secunderabad
- Rio Café, Secunderabad.
During the course of inspection, the officials have noticed the following violations in some of the restaurants
- Some of the establishments were found operating without an FSSAI license/registration
- Hygiene issues in a few preparation areas, like the presence of open dustbins, littering of waste, food handlers not wearing head gear etc
- Presence of expired food articles
- Violations in handling and storage of food articles
- Spoiled /expired food articles
- Violation of FSS Labelling and Display Regulations
- Infestation of houseflies and cockroaches
- Lack of proper documentation like FoSTaC Training certificates and health records of food handlers, pest control records etc
In view of the violations, the following actions are being taken
- Dreamz Cafeteria at Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Café at Panjagutta are closed as the business was operating without valid fssai license/registration
- The FSSAI License pertaining to M/s Shadab Hotel at Madina, Hyderabad was suspended and the management was instructed to stop the business operations immediately in the interest of public health due to multiple violations in terms of maintenance of hygiene and sanitation and storage practices of meat and other food articles which was observed during the inspection
- Food articles which are perishable and exposed to dust/flies etc were discarded on spot and other food articles like tea powder, ginger garlic paste, biscuits etc suspected to be adulterated have been seized and samples sent for analysis
- (15) samples have been lifted on suspicion of adulteration
- Improvement notices will be issued to Café Persia, Bahar Biryani Café, Café Deccan, Honeymoon Café, Rio Restaurant, Aromale Hospitality, Friends and Café, Dimond Point Hotel, Hotel Imroz, Blue Sea Tea and Snacks, Nimra Café and Bakery and Gulzar Foods (Persis Café) for rectification of the lapses identified during the inspection. The establishments will be revisited to verify the status of compliance with the food safety norms, and further action will be taken based on reinspection.
- Show Cause Notices will be issued to Golden Café, Dreams Cafeteria, Mirosa Café and Kitchen (Fyra Foods), Asiatic Café and Shadab Hotel have been issued to the establishments for the violations reported during the inspections, and further action will be initiated to impose penalties
