KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 01, 2026: Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Karimnagar, organised an MSME Awareness Programme on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme to create awareness among students and aspiring entrepreneurs about digital commerce opportunities and the benefits of adopting digital platforms for business growth.
The programme focused on introducing participants to the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and explaining how the open digital commerce network can help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) access wider markets, improve their digital presence, and expand their customer base. The participants were also sensitised to the importance of digitalisation, online business opportunities, and technology-enabled entrepreneurship.
Principal Prof. D. Varalakshmi appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of developing digital and entrepreneurial skills among students. She encouraged the students to make use of emerging digital platforms and government initiatives to explore entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.
Devender, District Manager, explained the objectives of the RAMP Scheme and highlighted the opportunities available for MSMEs through digital platforms. Ramakrishna, Assistant Manager, provided valuable insights into ONDC and its role in enabling businesses to participate in the digital commerce ecosystem.
Vara Prasad, Director, addressed the participants and highlighted the growing importance of digital commerce for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
The programme was organised under the guidance and coordination of M. Kalpana, IQAC Coordinator, and B. Rajani Devi, EDC Coordinator. The coordinators emphasised the need for students to understand government-supported initiatives and acquire practical knowledge of digital entrepreneurship.
The programme provided an informative platform for students to understand ONDC, digital commerce, MSME development and entrepreneurship opportunities, encouraging them to become future-ready entrepreneurs and contribute to the growth of the local economy.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members and students for their active participation and support.
