KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 31, 2026: Minister for Transportation and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has said that the government is taking all measures to transform the Husnabad assembly constituency into an educational hub.
The Minister participated in the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of hostel buildings for the boys and girls separately for the University College of Engineering, Satavahana University, for Rs 14.56 crore at Ummapur village in Husnabad mandal on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhakar said that the admissions into the newly sanctioned engineering college were steadily increasing and added that they would introduce more new courses as per the demand in the market and provide more employment opportunities to the students.
Reminding that they had already laid the foundation stone for the construction of the college and administrative buildings, he said that the hostel buildings would be completed within one year. He promised to set up a library in the hostel building itself for the benefit of students. He also promised to act as the guardian of the students along with being a local legislator. He said that they would introduce two new bus services to the engineering college from Husnabad.
As part of converting the Husnabad assembly segment into an educational hub, the Minister said that they had sanctioned Young India Integrated Residential School in Thangalapalli in Koheda mandal and another integrated residential school is coming up in Saidapur. He said Navodaya School was coming up in Bheemadevarapalli mandal, the Telangana Public School in Chirigurumamidi mandal, Basara IIIT branch in Elkathurthy, Kabaddi academy in Husnabad, etc. He said that they would soon construct a sports stadium in Husnabad and develop an industrial corridor and Urban Forest Park, and beautification of Yellamma Tank with a glass bridge. SU Vice Chancellor Prof U Umesh Kumar, Registrar Satish Kumar, College Principal Tirupati Reddy, Municipal chairperson Lakshmi and others were also present.
