KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2026: Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar, celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm on Saturday, highlighting the importance of sports, physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork in students’ lives.
The school observed the occasion during the assembly, where students learned about the significance of National Sports Day and the vital role sports play in maintaining a healthy body and a positive mind. The assembly also featured a vibrant dance performance, adding energy and excitement to the celebrations.
The programme also marked Telugu Language Day. Advisory Committee Member Gandra Laxman Rao addressed the students and spoke about the importance of the Telugu language, encouraging them to value and preserve their linguistic and cultural heritage.

As part of the celebrations, the school organised house-wise sporting competitions, allowing students to participate, compete and demonstrate their sporting abilities. Exciting matches in volleyball, kho-kho and kabaddi were conducted among the houses. The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who displayed teamwork, discipline, determination and healthy competitive spirit.
The house-wise games provided students with a platform to showcase their talents while understanding that true sportsmanship lies not merely in winning but also in respecting opponents, accepting challenges and giving one’s best.
