JAGTIAL, AUGUST 27, 2026: Raksha Bandhan celebrations were organised with zeal at the Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), on Thursday.
Speaking on the significance of Raksha Bandhan, NSS Programme Officers N. Sangeetha Rani, D. Sujatha and G. Srilatha stated that such celebrations help promote mutual love, affection, brotherhood and a sense of social responsibility among students. On the occasion, the students tied rakhis to the teaching and non-teaching staff and conveyed their warm greetings. The celebrations reflected the spirit of unity, affection and fraternity among the members of the college community and were conducted with great enthusiasm.
The faculty and students expressed their happiness over organising the Raksha Bandhan celebrations on the college campus. The college authorities stated that the NSS units regularly organise various programmes aimed at developing social awareness, a spirit of service and humanitarian values among students.
The programme was organised under the guidance of the College Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna, with N. Sangeetha Rani serving as the coordinator. In-charge Principal Prof. T. Pramod Kumar, Vice-Principal G. Chandraiah, and faculty members Prof. V. Varaprasad, N. Vasavi, G. Ramachandram, S. Mallikarjun, G. Neeraja and V. Jamuna, along with faculty members from various departments, non-teaching staff and a large number of newly admitted students, participated in the celebrations.
