HYDERABAD, AUGUST 25, 2026: TG SAFE (Telangana State Food Safety Authority), comprising the Food Safety Officers and the Police personell have conducted surprise raids on 32 sweet shops and savouries in the Core Urban Region (CURE) on Tuesday.
Following the instructions of TG SAFE Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, the 15 teams from Enforcement Wing of TG SAFE have raided the sweet shops including Pulla Reddy sweets and noticed Lack of proper hygiene, Presence of expired food articles, Violations in handling and storage of food articles, Spoiled Vegetables with fungal infestation, Violation of FSS Labelling and Display Regulations, Violation of FSS Packaging Regulations, Products with misleading claims/advertisements and presence of Pest/Rodent Infestation.

The Officials have lifted 35 samples on suspicious adulteration, and the licence pertaining to the Ms Burfi Ghar situation in Bachupally, Hyderabad, have been suspended with directions to discontinue the business operations immediately. Improvement notices have been issued to 12 sweet shops and show-cause notices to four shops. The officials have seized 15 tonnes of food articles worth Rs 30 lakhs.
