KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 25, 2026: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Nagunuru, in Karimnagar town, on Tuesday conducted a medical camp for the benefit of students of the college.
The medical team from Chamanpally Primary Health Centre, led by Medical Officer Dr M Chaitanya along with paramedical staff Public Health Nurse Tara Bai, Mid-Level Health Provider (MLHP) Sravan, and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) Manemma and Ramana.
The initiative was taken up under the leadership of College Principal T. Malathi, Vice-Principal S. Padmaja, and Academic Coordinator (ACO) Â G. Vasumathi. The event was actively coordinated and managed by the college NSS Programme Officers (POs), K. Geetharani and V. Ambica.
During the camp, students suffering from fever were carefully screened for Dengue and Malaria. Additionally, Haemoglobin (Hb) testing was performed for 40 students to closely monitor their health and nutritional levels. Following the medical checkups, Dr M. Chaitanya and the Chamanapally PHC medical team conducted a health awareness session on HIV/AIDS to educate the students about health safety and prevention.
Later, the medical team, NSS POs, and college authorities inspected the college kitchen and mess store room. They thoroughly reviewed the daily menu, evaluated the quality of the food arrangements, and made detailed enquiries to ensure that high safety and hygiene standards are being maintained for the residential students.
