TIRUMALA, AUGUST 21, 2026: The 1053rd Avatara Mahotsavams of Sri Tirumala Nambi, the revered first citizen of Tirumala who devoted his life to kainkaryams to Sri Venkateswara Swamy, concluded grandly on Friday at the Tirumala Nambi Sannidhi on South Mada Street.
Sixteen scholars from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka delivered discourses on his life and contributions.
Addressing the gathering, 101-year-old scholar Sri Srinivasacharya said that Pundarikaksha, Bhagavad Ramanuja and Vedanta Desika followed the path shown by Sri Tirumala Nambi and greatly propagated Visishtadvaita philosophy and the Sri Vaishnava tradition.
Earlier, TTD Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary offered prayers at the shrine. TTD Special Officer of the Alwar Divya Prabandha Project Dr. M. Tirumalisai Alwar, descendants of Sri Tirumala Nambi Sri T.K. Seshadri Swamy and Sri T.K. Mukunda Tatacharya and others participated.
