KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 19, 2026: Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women (TGSWRDC) for women, Nagunuru, in Karimnagar town, has formally inaugurated a two-day workshop on “Building Effective Communication Skills for Academic & Professional Success”, under the SU Academic Empowerment Programme for Government Degree Colleges – 100-Day Initiative, on Wednesday.
Organised by the Department of English, TGSWRDCW, in collaboration with the Department of English, Satavahana University, the workshop aimed to enhance students’ communication skills, confidence, employability and professional competence.
The inaugural session was held at S. R. Sankaran Seminar Hall, with Prof. N. V. Sri Ranga Prasad, AEP Coordinator, Satavahana University and Principal, UCCBM, as Chief Guest. D. Vijay Prakash, Head (I/c), Department of English, Satavahana University, served as Workshop Coordinator. Principal T. Malathi presided over the programme.

The first day focused on “Building the Foundations of Effective Communication”, featuring sessions on Phonetics and Pronunciation, Communicative Skills, and Professional Writing. The sessions were handled by Swanna Akoju, D. Vijay Prakash, Mohammed Azam Ali and M. Rajitha, respectively. Interactive activities and practical exercises helped students develop clarity, confidence and effective expression.
Vice-Principal S. Padmaja, Convener M. Rajitha, Co-Conveners V. Ambica and G. Shalini, ACO G.Vasumathi, IQAC Coordinator G. Samatha and other faculty members and students participated in the programme. The workshop concluded with an emphasis on effective communication as a vital skill for students’ academic, personal and career development.
