KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 18, 2026: In order to give a fillip to the ancient iconic archery sport, Daram Susheela Devi Charitable Trust has felicitated the budding archery players from Karimnagar town and their coach for encouraging and protecting the ancient and traditional sport, which was part of the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Accordingly, on Tuesday, Charitable Trust founder and senior physician Dr D Raghu Raman felicitated the archers Nampally Vinmayi, a seventh-class student from St George International School, and Gankidi Srimayi Reddy, a tenth-class student from Kendriya Vidyalaya, in Karimnagar town, who are excelling in the sport and winning medals in the state and national-level competitions. The trust also felicitated the coach Bobbili Abhishek.
The trust provided an appreciation certificate and a small gift to encourage the sportsperson for preserving the traditional sport. Dr Raghu Raman also appreciated the parents of the archers for encouraging the talent among their children in the ancient archery sport. He also thanked District Yoga Association Secretary Sidda Reddy.
It may be recalled that the former Archers and the archery lovers started Archery Premier League to encourage the sport among the youngsters in the year 2025. Incidentally, film star Ram Charan is the brand ambassador for archery. He played the role of an archer in the blockbuster movie RRR.
