KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 17, 2026: A Two-Day Workshop on ‘Personal Finance and Wealth Creation’ was formally inaugurated by Professor P. Satish Kumar, Registrar, Satavahana University, and N. V. Sriranga Prasad, Principal, University College of Commerce and Business Management, Satavahana University, at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Nagunur in Karimnagar town, on Monday
The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp and offering prayers to the Almighty, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. T. Malathi, Principal; S. Padmaja, Vice-Principal; N Eshwaramma, Head of the Department of Commerce; G. Samatha, Convener; Commerce faculty members G. Saritha, S. Swapna and B. Deepti; other faculty members; and students participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor P. Satish Kumar, Registrar, Satavahana University, emphasised the importance of financial awareness among students. He stressed the need for students to understand Financial Avenues, Basics of Stock Market, Mutual Funds and SIPs so that they can make informed and responsible financial decisions.

The first day featured three technical sessions. Financial Avenues was conducted by N. V. Sriranga Prasad, focusing on various financial avenues and investment opportunities. Basics of Stock Market, conducted by G. Samatha, focused on the fundamental aspects of the stock market and investment. Mutual Funds & SIPs, conducted by Kotagiri Shankar Lingam, Academician and Entrepreneur, focused on mutual funds and Systematic Investment Plans as investment avenues. The workshop aims to enhance financial awareness, money management skills, investment knowledge and understanding of wealth creation among students.
