KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 13, 2026: A “Launch Girls Orientation Programme” was successfully organised for first-year women students at Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Karimnagar, under the aegis of the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC). The programme was coordinated by B. Rajani Devi, WEC Coordinator and College Coordinator for the Launch Girls Programme.
A total of 735 first-year students from B.A., B.Com, B.Sc. Life Sciences, and B.Sc. Physical Sciences participated enthusiastically in four orientation sessions. Divya Parnandi, Programme Associate of the Launch Girls Non-profit Organisation, explained the three-year ‘Launch Girls’ Programme to the students. She highlighted that the first year focuses on career awareness and building self-confidence, the second year on skill development, and the third year on career preparation, including mentorship, internships, and training required for employment opportunities.
On the occasion, B. Rajani Devi, College Coordinator of the Launch Girls Programme, stated that the programme would help students develop life, communication, and leadership skills, as well as career-planning abilities, enabling them to grow into confident, job-ready, and empowered young women. She encouraged the students to participate actively in the programme throughout the three years and make the best use of the opportunities provided.
College Principal Prof. D. Varalakshmi appreciated the Launch Girls Organisation and advised the students to develop professional skills alongside academic excellence to build a successful future. Members of the Women Empowerment Cell and faculty members of the college participated in the programme.
