District receives normal rainfall in 10 mandals and excess in three mandals
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 04, 2026: Thanks to the incessant rains in the early hours of Tuesday, the Upper Manair Dam (UMD) in Narmala village of Gambhiraopet mandal started receiving inflows into the project.
The UMD project’s present level is 1476.58 feet against the full level of 1482.50 feet. The present water capacity in 1.292 tmcs of water against its storage capacity of 2.2 tmcs. The inflows into the project were 11,100 cusecs. Last year on the same date, the project level was 1473.75 feet with storage of one tmcs of water.
The irrigation officials are confident that the UMD would be filled to its brim with the inflows from its catchment areas in the Siddipet district. If the UMD is filled to its brim, its water would automatically reach the Lower Manair Dam in Karimnagar town.
In the meantime, the Mid Manair Dam in Manwada of Boinpalli is also receiving inflows from Gayatri pump house by lifting the water from Sripada Yellampalli project. Presently, the water level is at 312.13 meters against the full level of 318 meters and the water capacity is 14.819 tmcs of water against the full capacity of 27.55 tmcs of water. Last year on this day, the water level was 307.02 meters, and the water capacity was 7.394 tmcs.
Average inflows into the project were 15,104 cusecs from Gayatri pump house and another 233 cusecs of water from Manair and Mulavagu, the catchment area of the project. A record number of 6.264 tmcs of water was lifted into the project from Gayathri pump house from the Sripada Yellampalli project.
On the other hand, the upland Rajanna-Sircilla district had received copious rainfall during this season. Till date, 10 mandals received normal rainfall and three mandals viz Konaraopet, Veernapalli and Yellareddypet mandals received excess rainfall.
Average rainfall received on Tuesday was 41.2 mm against the normal of 8.7 mm. Till date, the district received 412.9 mm rainfall against the normal rainfall of 378.5 mm. In the previous year on this date, the rainfall from June 1 till date was 341.1 mm.
