KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 01, 2026: Indian Medical Association (IMA) Telangana state president Dr P Kishan has said that they had decided to form IMA-FOMA (Federation of Medical Associations), a joint collaborative body that brings together various medical specialist associations and the IMA to common issues such as national healthcare policies, ethical regulations and professional standards etc.
Similarly, the IMA would also constitute IMA-JDN (Junior Doctors Network) to encourage the young medicos to join the IMA, which will address all issues related to the young doctors pursuing in medical colleges.
Disclosing this to newsmen on Saturday after releasing the brochure about the IMA Telangana zone-2 Academic, Sports and Cultural conference-2026, which would be held in Karimnagar town on Sunday, IMA state president Dr P Kishan said that the IMA-JDN would be formed by enrolling more medicos by reducing the membership fee in IMA and strive to resolve their issues by taking the matter to the authorities concerned.
The IMA members from Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Medak districts would attend the conference, which is also a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, wherein senior doctors would speak on various new technologies and inventions in the medical field. The IMA working committee meeting would be conducted at the conference. The IMA zone-1 conference was conducted in Hyderabad and zone-3 in Khammam. The IMA annual conference would be conducted in Khammam tentatively in the month of November this year.
The IMA Telangana state zone-2 conference-2026 would be inaugurated by IMA state president Dr P Kishan, IMA chairman action committee for national and state IMA Dr E Ravinder Reddy, IMA immediate past president Dr D Dwarakanath Reddy, IMA Telangana state president elect Dr V Vijay Kumar, past IMA state presidents Dr K Shyamsunder, Dr E Vijayender Reddy and Dr BN Rao, IMA state secretary Dr V Ashok, treasurer Dr T Dayal Singh would attend.
Conference organising committee chairman Dr MLN Reddy, organising convenor Dr Polasa Ram Kiran, organising secretary Dr U Ramakrishna. The Host IMA Karimnagar chapter president Dr Akula Shailaja, secretary Dr N Mahesh Babu, treasurer Dr K Neelima, former Karimnagar IMA presidents Dr Vasanth Rao and Dr Anamalla Naresh, IMA leaders Dr Challuru Vijaykumar, Dr Manasa, Dr Jyothi and others were also present.
IMA state sports vice chairman Dr P Ramkiran said that the conference would organise sports and cultural meets titled ‘Sankalp’ and the conference would also release a medical journal.
