KARIMNAGAR, JULY 29, 2026: Students of Arvintree High School, Vasudeva Colony, Bhagathnagar, Karimnagar town, celebrated Guru Pournami and Bonalu festival with pomp and gaiety on Wednesday.
The Guru Pournami event was aimed at honouring and expressing gratitude towards teachers — the guiding light in students’ lives. The students conducted special programmes highlighting the importance of the Guru in shaping one’s character and future. Through cultural programmes, the students explained Guru as a guiding force, motivator and torchbearer. They also felicitated school chairman B Ramana Rao and Director B Vijayalakshmi and other teachers who encouraged the students to keep learning with sincerity and humility.
School Chairman B Ramana Rao shared his thoughts on the glory of the guru. He encouraged all students to always remain respectful and devoted to their teachers and emphasised the timeless value of the guru-shishya tradition in Indian culture.
The school also organised a Bonalu festival celebration, wherein teachers explained the importance of the festival, saying that the festival is usually celebrated during Ashada Masam, which falls in the months of July/August. The students dressed in their traditional attire along with Director B Vijayalakshmi, carried and offered their Bonams to the Mother Goddess by decorating the bonams with neem leaves. Children were excited to watch the story behind this tradition and also enjoyed dancing of Potharajus to the beats of the festive songs.
