The State-of-the-Art Centralised Community Kitchen will provide nutritious breakfast to 44,107 Government School children studying in 879 schools across 16 mandals of Khammam district
KHAMMAM, JULY 27, 2026: The Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation’s (HKMCF) State-of-the-Art Centralised Community Kitchen was inaugurated today by Deputy Chief Minister Sri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at Madhira, Khammam district, to provide nutritious breakfast to Government School children. HKMCF is the premier implementing partner of the Government of Telangana for the implementation of the School Breakfast Programme, one of the Government’s flagship initiatives to improve child nutrition and learning outcomes.
This initiative will benefit approximately 44,107 students from 879 Government Schools across the following 16 Mandals viz. Madhira, Bonakal, Chinthakani, Enkuru, Kalluru, Konijerla, Kusumanchi, Mudigonda, Nelakondapally, Penuballi, Sathupally, Thallada, Thirumalayapalem, Vemsoor, Wyra, Yerrupalem of Khammam District. The nutritious breakfasts will be prepared hygienically and distributed promptly from this newly constructed advanced Centralised Kitchen.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Sri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka Garu as the Chief Guest, in the august presence of His Grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Swamiji, President, Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation (HKMCF) and Regional President, The Akshaya Patra Foundation (Telangana & Andhra Pradesh), besides public representatives, eminent dignitaries, special guests, patrons, Government officials, and HKMCF functionaries.

Equipped with modern technology and advanced food production practices, the state-of-the-art Centralized Community Kitchen will prepare and deliver fresh, hot, and nutritious breakfasts to Government School children on every school working day.
This project is the result of a collaborative partnership between the Government of Telangana, Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation (HKMCF), and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. While the Government of Telangana provided an 8,000 sq. ft. shed at the Agricultural Market Yard, Madhira, SCCL funded the construction of the kitchen, and HKMCF established the modern facility and will operate it under the Government’s School Breakfast Programme.
This inauguration reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring nutritious breakfasts for Government School children through collaborative efforts with HKMCF and CSR partners. This Inaugural event was also attended by Sri Pingili Sripal Garu, Member of Legislative Council, Sri Maloth Ramdas Naik, MLA Wyra, Smt. Upon arrival, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and dignitaries were accorded welcome honors and the program commenced with Sri Narasimha Homa and Purnahuti, invoking auspicious blessings for the successful functioning of the kitchen in its noble service.
Following the ceremonial proceedings, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister unveiled the inaugural plaque and officially dedicated the Centralized Community Kitchen to public service. He also inaugurated the Office Block and the Quality Testing Laboratory, highlighting HKMCF’s unwavering focus on food quality, hygiene, and stringent safety standards.

The visiting dignitaries were given a comprehensive tour of the modern kitchen facility and introduced to its technology-driven food production processes. They witnessed the operation of advanced equipment, including automatic vegetable washing and cutting systems, automated curry-making machines, high-capacity steamers and sambar couldrons, fully automatic dosa and puri-making machines, and a dedicated milk processing unit. Designed for large-scale breakfast preparation, these modern systems will ensure the timely delivery of fresh, nutritious, and hygienically prepared meals. The dignitaries also flagged off newly commissioned, custom-built vehicles for the distribution of breakfast to schools.

The School Breakfast Programme is dedicated to providing hot, tasty, and nutritious breakfast to Government School children, especially those from underprivileged communities. By ensuring a nutritious start to the day, the programme promotes better health, supports optimal physical and mental development, and creates a stronger foundation for effective learning and overall well-being.
State-of-the-Art Technology and Infrastructure:
The Centralized Community Kitchen is equipped with cutting-edge technology and advanced automated systems designed to produce hygienic preparation of breakfast on a large scale while eliminating any scope for food contamination. The facility houses high-capacity automated steamers capable of preparing 5400 idlis per hour, a specially designed automatic dosa-making machine capable of producing 2000 dosas per hour, and a fully automatic puri-making machine with a production capacity of 3000 puris per hour.
The kitchen is also equipped with automated sambar cauldrons and curry-making equipments capable of preparing sambar and curry for 5,000 students within two hours, along with high-capacity rice cooking equipment that can prepare rice for 1,000 students in just 15 minutes.
Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, the kitchen converts biodegradable waste generated during food preparation into biogas. It is further equipped with a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plant, Boiler Plant, Central Gas Bank, and an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure safe water usage, efficient operations, and environmentally responsible waste management.
To ensure that every child receives not only a hot and hygienic breakfast but also a nutritious and enjoyable meal, HKMCF has developed a carefully planned, diverse menu that varies each school day.
