TIRUPATI, JULY 20, 2026: The annual Paruveta Utsavam of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy was celebrated with great religious fervour on Monday at Srinivasamangapuram, near Srivari Mettu, the sacred path believed to have been traversed by Lord Venkateswara
The processional deities were taken in a grand procession from the temple to the Paruveta Mandapam at 7 a.m. amid Vedic chanting and traditional music. After the customary offerings, the Paruveta ritual was performed.
A special highlight of the festival was the symbolic act of the Lord throwing the spear three times, signifying the destruction of evil. An Asthanam was also held, and the deities were taken back to the temple in the evening.
As part of the celebrations, artists from the TTD Annamacharya Project rendered devotional Sankirtans, while Bhajan groups performed devotional songs and Kolatam, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere. Anna Prasadam was distributed to devotees near Srivari Mettu.
TTD JEO Dr. A. Sharath, Special Grade Deputy EO Smt. Varalakshmi, AEO Sri Gopinath, Superintendent Sri Raj Kumar, temple priests led by Sri Balaji Rangacharyulu, Temple *Inspectors Sri Munikumar and Sri Dhanasekhar Jaya, other officials, priests, and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
