KARIMNAGAR, JULY 19, 2026: Maryland State University, USA, has conferred an honorary Doctorate and a gold medal upon Ch Rajeshwar Rao, chairman of Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited aka Karimnagar Dairy.
The honorary Doctorate was conferred upon Rajeshwar Rao in recognition of his contribution to the fields of promotion of ‘white revolution’ by increasing milk production and encouraging the farmers to take up dairy farming as an alternate source of employment along with agriculture.
The recognition came during the India Intellectual Conclave 2026, held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, in the presence of dignitaries, academicians, and business leaders from across the country.

Mr Rajeshwar Rao has been associated with dairy farming since 1980 as the president of the Village Milk Producers Cooperative Society. He has been the chairman of Karimnagar Dairy since 1997 to date.
He played a crucial role in increasing the milk procurement from 12,000 litres per day to two litres per day and sales from 4,000 litres per day to 2 lakh litres per day. He was instrumental in introducing several dairy products such as curd, buttermilk, sweets, paneer, sweet lassi and more. He launched several welfare measures for the farmers and milking animals to increase milk production.
The other awards won by Mr Rajeshwara Rao include: INDIA DAIRY Award for the Best Medium Sized Company in the year 2020, The Hans India award for Best Retailer in the dairy sector in the year 2019, Indian Agriculture award for Best Quality Milk and Milk Products in the county in the year 2018, Lions Club of Karimnagar award for Best Entrepreneurship in the year 2017, Acharya NG Ranga Kisan Samstha, Ongole, award for Best Social Service in 2014, ICAR (Indian Council for Agriculture Research ) Best Farmer award in 2016 and Dr C Krishna Rao award in the Best Services category in 2010.
