
MANGALURU, JULY 18, 2026: A Doctoral Committee meeting for PhD scholars in English was held on Saturday on the university’s old Pandeshwar campus. The meeting brought together 19 research scholars, seven research professors, three external experts, and Coordinator Dr. Reena Ranjith to review progress, provide feedback, and guide ongoing doctoral research.
The session opened with a welcome from the coordinator, Dr. Reena Ranjith, who outlined the agenda and emphasised the importance of rigorous methodology and timely milestones. Each scholar presented updates on research objectives, literature reviews, methodology, and preliminary findings. The panel of research professors Dr Srinivas Vooradi, Dr Thungesh, Dr Bhuvana Ramachandran, Dr Ambika G Mallya, Dr Manjula, Dr Varadesh Hiregange and external experts Dr Rashmi Hegde, Dr Vishwanath and Dr Rajalakshmi, offered constructive critiques, suggested refinements to research questions, recommended additional readings and methodological adjustments, and advised on publication and dissemination strategies.
Key points of discussion included the clarity of research frameworks, ethical considerations, data collection plans, and timelines for submitting progress reports and draft chapters. Several scholars received specific recommendations for strengthening theoretical frameworks and expanding comparative analyses. The committee also underscored the need for interdisciplinary approaches where appropriate and encouraged scholars to pursue conference presentations and journal submissions to build academic profiles.
The meeting concluded with agreed action points and deadlines for the next review. Coordinator Dr. Reena Ranjith thanked the participating professors, external experts, and scholars for their active engagement and constructive contributions. The committee reconvened its support for the scholars’ progress and committed to follow-up mentoring to ensure the successful completion of the doctoral programme.
