Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar launches the yatra by offering prayers at the Sri Maha Shakthi temple
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 16, 2026: The Karimnagar town resonated with the chants of ‘Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare – Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare”, ‘Jai Jagannath and ‘Haribol”, as devotees pulled the beautifully decked-up chariots carrying the idols of Sri Jagannath, Subhadra and Balabhadra on the occasion of the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra on Thursday.
The Ratha Yatra organised by ISKCON Karimnagar commenced from Sri Maha Shakthi temple, drawing a large number of devotees, and culminating at the Vyasya Bhavan passing various streets of Karimnagar town.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Karimnagar Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, Deputy Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Municipal Corporators B Praveen Rao, Banda Ramana Reddy and others participated in the special pujas to the deities before the launch of the rath yatra at the Maha Shakthi temple. They participated in Bhog and Maha Harathi.

The bhajans and cultural programmes enthralled the devotees along the procession. To manage the processions across the city and the influx of devotees, the Traffic Police implemented route diversions and barricading of roads.
