SPIC MACAY to conduct classical programmes in govt educational institutions from July 6 to 10 in Karimnagar, Jagtial and Nirmal districts
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 05, 2026: SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) a nationwide voluntary youth movement founded in 1977 by Padma Shri Dr. Kiran Seth, is resumed this year’s intiative ” The Great Virasat 2026″ (A grand 500 Classical Programs across Educational Institutions of Telangana State) Dedicated to fostering inner wisdom and inquiry among young minds the movement continues its mission of reconnecting students with India’s rich cultural roots through classical music and dance.
As part of this year’s initiative, the SPIC MACAY Telangana Chapter is organising extensive workshop demonstrations across the districts of Karimnagar, Jagtial and Nirmal. From July 6 to July 10, 2026, these workshops will bring the depth of classical Indian heritage to students.

The program features a diverse array of classical traditions led by eminent artists: in Karimnagar students will experience Kuchipudi by Ms. Swetha Prasanna and Carnatic music by Mr. JS Sriram; in Jagtial the workshops will showcase the graceful movements of Odissi by Ms. Tulika Reddy and the intricate footwork of Kathak by Ms. Tripti Sanwal; and in Nirmal the sessions will highlight Odissi by Ms. Asha Kumari and Kuchipudi by Ms. Sathwika Reddy. These five-day sessions are designed to provide students with an immersive experience, allowing them to engage directly with master practitioners and gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies, discipline, and beauty inherent in these classical traditions.
