KARIMNAGAR, JULY 04, 2026: Rich tributes were paid to Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary by garlanding his statue at Vedira crossroads in Ramadugu mandal on Saturday.
Ramadugu tahsildar Dasari Rajamallu, national youth awardee Aluvala Vishnu and others paid floral tributes to his statue and observed two minutes’ silence as a mark of respect. Swami Vivekananda, who died on July 4, 1902, played an important role in the spiritual enlightenment of the masses and in spreading Indian culture across the globe. He was a disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahansa and established the Ramakrishna Mission in 1897.
On this occasion, Mr Rajamallu said Swami Vivekananda was a source of inspiration for the youth and had given the key mantra of “work hard and have faith in God”. Sarpanches association honourary president Uppula Anjani Prasad and mandal Congress president J Harish have urged the government to celebrate Swami Vivekananda’s birth and death anniversary as official function in the state.
Revelli sarpanch B Ajay Kumar Goud, village sarpanch S Anjan Kumar, MPDO S Rajeshwari, APM Jyothi, upa-sarpanchs Raji Reddy and K Manish, panchayat secretary Mallikarjun, panchayat karobar P Asok Reddy and others were also present.
