Devotees rush peaks at Tirumala: Darshan wait time reaches 18 to 24 hours

TIRUMALA, JUNE 27, 2026: With the weekend holidays, there was heavy pilgrim footfall, and surging crowds have led to significant waiting times at the Tirumala temple, with Sarva Darshan (free) waiting times peaking at 18 to 24 hours.

Queue compartments have overflowed, causing lines to stretch up to the Octopus building (near Gogarbham Dam circle). The TTD is making elaborate arrangements by providing water, snacks and milk to the devotees in the queue lines.

A total of 81,340 pilgrims had darshan on Friday. Among them, 44,874 devotees had tonsured their heads. The temple received a hundi collection of Rs 3.76 crore. The laddu sales were 4.42 lakhs, and annaprasadams were served to 3.31 lakh, and 3,916 pilgrims availed medical treatment.
