JAGTIAL, JUNE 25, 2026: In a significant step towards promoting technology-driven rural development and strengthening the cooperative ecosystem, NABARD inaugurated the RuTAGe Smart Village Centre (RSVC) at Beerpur PACS, Jagtial district. The centre was inaugurated virtually as part of a national programme led by NABARD in association with the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.
The inauguration programme was graced virtually by distinguished dignitaries, including Mr Shaji K.V., Chairman, NABARD, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Mr Goverdhan Singh Rawat and Deputy Managing Director, NABARD, Uday Bhaskar, CGM, NABARD, Telangana region.
At Beerpur PACS, the programme was attended by Sai Srinivas, DGM, NABARD, M. Dileep Chandra, DDM, NABARD, Manoj Kumar, DCO, Bhaskar, DAO, Ram Kumar, LDM, B Sridhar, GM, KDCCB, along with officials of KDCCB, Ramachandra Rao, Chairman, Beerpur PACS, members of the Board of Directors, PACS staff, progressive farmers and villagers from all seven villages served by the PACS.
The RSVC at Beerpur PACS has been established with NABARD grant assistance of ₹33.52 lakh under Gramya Vikas Nidhi (GVN) and is being implemented over a three-year period (2026–2029) with technical support from Cornell Sathguru Foundation, Hyderabad. The project covers seven villages with a population of approximately 9,000 and aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities through the adoption and dissemination of appropriate rural technologies.
The RSVC has been equipped with several innovative technologies designed to improve agricultural productivity, reduce production costs, promote value addition and generate local employment opportunities. The technologies introduced include:
* Agri Drone for precision farming services
* Poha Making Machine
* Puffed Rice Making Machine
* Soil Testing Machine
* Smart Irrigation Device
The centre will function as an integrated rural technology hub providing technology-based services, value-addition opportunities, digital advisory services, awareness on government schemes, financial literacy, digital literacy and entrepreneurship promotion among rural youth and farmers.
Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted the importance of leveraging modern technologies for sustainable agricultural growth and emphasised the role of cooperative institutions in transforming rural economies. They appreciated NABARD’s pioneering initiative in establishing Telangana as the first state in the country to operationalise RuTAGe Smart Village Centres through PACS.
The dignitaries expressed confidence that the RSVC at Beerpur would emerge as a model centre for technology dissemination and rural innovation, contributing to enhanced farm incomes, employment generation, entrepreneurship development and overall rural prosperity.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by interaction with farmers and demonstrations of the technologies installed at the centre.
