TGCGTA Expresses Gratitude to the State Government.
HANAMKONDA, JUNE 13, 2026: K. Surender Reddy, State Secretary of the Telangana Government College Gazetted Teachers Association (TGCGTA), stated that the issuance of G.O. 21 by the Government of Telangana is a historic decision in the higher education sector.
This order resolves a long-pending issue of nearly 15 years concerning the applicability of previous service rules for lecturers who initially served as Junior Lecturers (JL) in Government Junior Colleges and were later promoted as lecturers in Government Degree Colleges under the Higher Education Department. With this G.O., such lecturers have now become eligible to receive benefits under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).
He expressed special gratitude to Anumula Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, for issuing this G.O. He also thanked CMO Education Secretary Ajith Reddy, Education Department Principal Secretary Yogita Rana, and Higher Education Commissioner Sri Devasena for their efforts in making this possible.

The issue was ultimately brought to the attention of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, whose intervention led to the resolution through G.O. 21.

Following this, lecturers organized a felicitation meeting to celebrate the achievement. The programme was attended by TGCGTA Associate President N. Gopi, State Vice President J.
