
HANAMKONDA, JUNE 05, 2026: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, raided a quack’s clinic in Indira Nagar, Yenugulagadda, Hanamkonda Mandal, Hanamkonda District, and seized drugs illegally stocked for sale.
On credible information, Drugs Control Administration officials, on 4th June, 2026, raided the premises of a quack/unqualified practitioner, Batthula Raju Kumar, situated at First Aid Clinic, who was conducting clinical practice without proper qualifications at his clinic.
During the raid, DCA officials detected 41 varieties of medicines, including 35 varieties of Institutional Supply medicines, such as antibiotics, steroids, analgesics, anti-ulcer drugs, IV fluids, antihypertensives, etc., which were illegally stocked at the premises. The total value of the seized stock is Rs. 10,000/-.
DCA officials detected several ‘antibiotics’ at the clinic during the raid. The indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by unqualified persons may have disastrous consequences on the health of the public, including the emergence of ‘Antimicrobial Resistance’.
Officials found ‘steroids’ at the quack’s clinic. Misusing steroids can have serious health consequences, including immune system suppression, hormonal imbalances, muscle and bone weakness, cardiovascular problems, and psychological effects. The indiscriminate use of steroids poses significant risks to public health.
J Kiran Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Hanumakonda and P. Shravan Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Warangal carried out the raid under the supervision of G. Rajyalakshmi, Assistant Director, Warangal. DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis. Further investigation will be carried out, and action will be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
The Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, issues drug licenses for the stocking and selling of medicines in accordance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
