
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 23, 2026: To gear up the farming community for the ensuing monsoon season, the Agricultural scientists from Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendra, Jagtial of PJTAU, have launched ‘Scientists in the Farmers Fields’ at Rythu Vedika in Challuru village of Veenavanka mandal on Sunday.
Under the guidance of Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendra, Principal Scientist and Coordinator, Dr A. Vijaya Bhaskar explained the main objective of this programme for better cultivation methods in coordination with the District Agriculture Department. He also explained eight aspects viz., 1. judicious use of urea, which reduces cultivation cost and improves soil health, 2. Use fertilisers and chemicals as per the need, which protects the mother soil health 3. Use 8 Paddy varieties that have demand in the market, 4. Use irrigation water as per the requirements of crops. 5. Crop rotation should be followed to get sustainable income . 6. Grow trees to protect the environment. 7. Pulverise the crop remains after harvesting and mix in soils to enrich. 8. As soon as the first rains fall, green manure crops viz., Navadhanyalu, alasanda, Pesara, Janumu, Jeeluga etc., should be sown and ploughed at the flowering stage.


Mandal Agriculture Officer Ch. Ganesh suggested that all farmers should use this Rythu Mungitlo Scientists programme, which has been going on at various villages of Veenavanka Mandal for a month. Agricultural Extension Officer Shravan and progressive farmers participated in this program and made it a success.
