
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 03, 2026: A team of doctors from Renee hospital in Karimnagar, headed by its chairman Dr Bangari Swamy, has added a feather in their cap by successfully conducting a Total Knee Replacement (TNR) surgery through Robotics. The Renee hospital has emerged as the first hospital in entire north Telangana districts to perform TNR using robotics on Sunday.
More than 200 eminent orthopaedic surgeons from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had the opportunity to watch a live cast of six surgeries at Utsava in Hotel Tridha. The team expressed their happiness with the success of the operation and held an interactive session. TOSA president Dr Ram Kumar Reddy, guest of honour Dr Akhil Reddy and Dr Rajani Priyadarshini were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Renee Hospital chairman said: Robotic knee replacement surgery a leap into the future. We are happy to bring Robotics to Renee Hospital for the first time for the benefit of patients of entire north Telangana. Stating that it is very much cost-effective, he said using real-time feedback and highly sensitive sensors, robotic arms guide the surgeon and ensure that bone cuts are smooth, consistent and accurate to within fractions of a millimetre of the planned target.

Unlike conventional surgery, where small manual variations and human error may occur, robotic assistance offers unparalleled accuracy, he pointed out.
