KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 20, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with Karimnagar Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, formally launched the revival and beautification of minor irrigation tanks in Kothapalli, Theegalaguttapalli Rekurthi localities on the outskirts of Karimnagar town for Rs 5.82 crore under the Amruth 2.0 scheme on Monday.
The beautification of the minor irrigation tanks would transform the locations into mini tourism centres in Karimnagar town. The beautification of the tanks would avoid inconvenience for the people of the town during the immersion of Ganesh idols and Bathukammas in a comfortable atmosphere.
Stating that the Karimnagar town would progress on all fronts if there were no politics and parties in the developmental works, he said that they had completed the main roads of Karimnagar town, and now they would transform the by-lanes of the town by taking up internal roads. Assuring to secure the central funds for the development of Karimnagar town, he also said that they would ensure that the state government had also allocated funds.

SUDA chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy, Deputy Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai, BJP municipal corporators and others were also present.
