TIRUPATI/VONTIMITTA, APRIL 06, 2026: The Pushpa yagam Mahotsavam was conducted with great devotion on Sunday evening at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Vontimitta of Kadapa district.
The day began with Suprabhatam, awakening the deity, followed by temple purification rituals and daily worship. The Pushpa yagam commenced grandly at 6:00 PM.
Various flowers and sacred leaves such as Tulasi, Jasmine, Roses, Chrysanthemums, Oleander, Champak, and Mogali leaves were offered as Pushpa Neerajanam to the Lord and Goddess. Approximately 3 tons of flowers were received as donations from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

Priests explained that the Pushpa yagam is performed to seek relief from natural calamities and to ensure peace and prosperity for devotees, while also pleasing Mother Earth. It is also conducted as an act of atonement for any unintentional lapses in the daily rituals. They stated that this sacred ritual helps remove doshas and brings auspicious results.
TTD Board Member Sadasiva Rao, Deputy EO Prasanthi, Temple Inspector Sri Naveen, temple priests, and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
