RAMAGUNDAM, APRIL 03, 2026: NTPC Southern Region has witnessed a significant leadership development with Shri Ajay Sharma, Executive Director (Engineering, Quality & Inspection), assuming additional charge as Regional Executive Director (South) with immediate effect.
A seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in NTPC, Shri Sharma began his career as an Executive Trainee in 1989. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Aligarh Muslim University with an MBA in Finance, he has held key assignments across operations, maintenance, and project leadership at major NTPC stations, including Dadri and CC-EOC as NTPC OS Boiler head. Recently, he served as Head of Project, Kahalgaon.
Following his assumption of charge, Mr Sharma called on Mr Navin Mittal, Special Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Telangana, where Mr Sharma assured full support and cooperation from NTPC in addressing technical issues of flexible operation and boiler tube failures.
He also met Devendra Singh Chauhan, Additional Director General of Police (Personnel), as part of his initial engagements with key stakeholders in the region.
Mr Sharma is known for his strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities, and his appointment is expected to further strengthen NTPC’s operational performance and stakeholder engagement in the Southern Region.
