KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 28, 2026: The Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) are undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades focusing on technology and sustainability in Karimnagar district.
Under initiatives such as Saksham Anganwadi, centres are being strengthened with modern facilities, including LED TVs and smart tools to enhance early childhood education. The authorities have also decided to install rainwater harvesting structures in all government buildings, schools, and Anganwadi centres to encourage groundwater recharge.
Accordingly, Karimnagar Mayor Kolagani Srinivas has formally inaugurated the Water Purifier plant at AWC in Theegalaguttapalli in Karimnagar town on Saturday. On this occasion, Mr Srinivas said that the government had decided to upgrade all the 269 AWCs in the district for Rs one lakh by providing LED TVs, ECCE material, water harvesting structures, child painting, poshan vatika etc.

He appealed to the authorities concerned to take all measures to increase enrolment into the AWCs. He also distributed progress cards to the preschool children on the occasion. CDPO K Sabitha Kumari, Supervisor Rajamani, AWTS Srilatha, Rajamani, Kanaka Laxmi, DHEW staff Kavitha, Shailaja and others were also present.
