KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 28, 2026: In an effort to promote women’s safety and empower young girls, the SHE Teams conducted an awareness session at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Nagunur, Karimnagar town, on Saturday. The session was organised to educate students about personal safety, legal rights, and the importance of reporting harassment.
The programme witnessed active participation from a large number of college girls, who engaged enthusiastically with the officers. The SHE Team officials explained various forms of harassment, including cybercrime, stalking, and eve-teasing, and provided practical guidance on how to respond in such situations.
During the session, the officers emphasised the importance of using safety apps, helpline numbers, and social media responsibly. They also encouraged students to speak up without fear and assured them of strict action against offenders.
The event was held under the guidance of the Principal, T. Malathi, along with the support of the Vice Principal, S. Padmaja, and the ACO, Vasumathi, who played a key role in organising the session. They appreciated the efforts of the SHE Teams in spreading awareness among students.
Interactive discussions and real-life case examples helped the students better understand preventive measures and legal provisions available for their protection. The awareness program aimed not only to inform but also to build confidence among young women.
