KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 26, 2026: In the Telugu states, the mention of Sri Rama Navami celebrations immediately brings Bhadrachalam to mind, where the celestial wedding of Lord Sita Ramachandra Swamy is conducted with great splendour. Every year, thousands of devotees visit Badrachalam, enduring the heat, to witness the sacred ceremony in person. Now, following the tradition of Bhadrachalam, Karimnagar is emerging as a new venue for hosting similar grand celebrations. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has initiated arrangements to conduct the Sita Rama Kalyanam on a magnificent scale, similar to traditional weddings celebrated among the public.
With the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Vidyaranya Bharati Swamiji of the Hampi Peetham, the Sri Mahashakti Temple, where the three goddesses are enshrined, is being beautifully adorned for the occasion.
Grand arrangements in place
Large shamianas have been set up across the temple premises, reflecting the festive spirit of a traditional wedding. Ceremonial items and musical arrangements are all in place. LED screens have been installed to enable around 25,000 devotees to watch the celebrations simultaneously.
Devotees attending the ceremony will receive talambralu along with blessings from Vedic scholars. The wedding rituals are scheduled to begin at 9 AM, and priests will explain each stage of the ceremony in a simple and understandable manner. Devotional music performances will also be held intermittently, adding to the spiritual atmosphere.

Grand wedding pavilion… beautifully adorned with flowers
The Sri Mahashakti Temple is being elegantly decorated for the Sita Rama Kalyanam with a wide variety of flowers. The entire temple is being enhanced with vibrant floral arrangements and illuminated with decorative lighting, creating a festive and divine ambience. A spacious wedding pavilion has been set up and tastefully decorated for the occasion.
Keeping the summer heat in mind, special arrangements have been made to ensure the comfort of devotees, especially children. Coolers have been installed, and ample drinking water, along with buttermilk, will be provided to all attendees.
Extensive arrangements are underway to serve food and prasadam to devotees attending the celebrations. With an estimated turnout of around 25,000 people, the organisers are preparing sufficient quantities of food.
In line with traditional wedding feasts, a variety of dishes—including multiple curries, sambar, curd, sweets, pulihora, and other special items—will be served. To avoid overcrowding, five serving counters are being set up. A dedicated kitchen has been arranged, and cooking preparations will begin tonight.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has called upon devotees to gather in large numbers for the Sita Ramachandra Swamy wedding celebrations at the Sri Mahashakti Temple in Karimnagar. He assured that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for all attendees during the Sri Rama Navami festivities.
He further stated that devotees will receive talambralu along with blessings from Vedic scholars.
