KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 24, 2026: The poster for the upcoming two-day state-level workshop on “Modern Herbarium Techniques and Digital Documentation” was officially unveiled by Satavahana University Registrar Prof. Peddapelli Satish Kumar along with Kadaru Surender Reddy, State General Secretary of the Telangana Government Degree College Association and others on Tuesday.
Organised by the Department of Botany at Sri Rajarajeswara (SRR) Government Arts and Science College in collaboration with Satavahana University, the workshop is a key part of the “Academic Empowerment Program for Government Degree Colleges: A 100-Day Initiative.” Under the leadership of Prof. Tirukovela Srinivas, the event is being coordinated by Organising Secretary Padala Thirupathi, along with a team of co-convenors including Mohammed Tahir Hussain, Rautu Radhakrishna, Kandukuri Kalajyothi, Asampalli Swarupa Rani, Mohammed Tajuddin, R. Shyamala Chandra, B. Satish, P. Latha, and Ch. Mridula.
Technical training on herbarium preparation, specialised equipment, and digital documentation will be provided by renowned scientists from the Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Hyderabad, including P. Harikrishna and Shankara Rao Mudedla. They will be joined by Tirunahari Yugandhar (Associate Professor, Kakatiya Government College), Radhakrishna, and Mohammed Tahir Hussain, who will provide specialised instruction to participating students and faculty. College In-Charge Principal P. Nitin Pathak highlighted that the workshop is designed to equip all attendees with cutting-edge technical knowledge in the field.
