KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 24, 2026: A seven-day NSS Special Camp, organised by the 4th Unit (Biological Sciences) of Sri Rajarajeswara (SRR) Government Arts & Science College, Karimnagar, was formally inaugurated at Mothe Village, Ramadugu Mandal, on Tuesday. The event was officially inaugurated by Kadaru Surendar Reddy, General Secretary of the Telangana Government Degree College Association, along with village Sarpanch Battini Bhavani Praveen and Upa Sarpanch Kummari Anil Kumar, who shared their insights during the opening ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Surendar Reddy emphasised that the National Service Scheme helps students cultivate service, dedication, friendship, and leadership, urging them to focus on holistic personality development. Prof. Tirukvaila Srinivas (HoD, Botany) encouraged students to adopt a spirit of service early in life and directed volunteers to conduct a detailed survey of Mothe village to prepare a report on local needs. Additionally, Kiranmai Kamadri (HoD, Zoology) advised volunteers to engage in social activities, specifically focusing on health awareness and seasonal disease prevention for women and children.
The programme saw active participation from ward members, including Arepalli Sumalatha, Durgam Jayasudha, Nerella Sravanthi, Mamidipalli Bhagyalakshmi, Poodari Srinivas, Gajjala Maunika, and Cheekati Mallesham. Faculty members Rautu Radhakrishna, Mohammed Tahir Hussain, B. Satish, Thota Mahesh, and Primary School Headmaster V. Laxman Kumar were also in attendance, along with 50 NSS VOLUNTEERS & local villagers.
