KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 21, 2026: In a tragic incident, a Sub-Inspector of Police working at Karimnagar Two Town Police station committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling, days after his wife died due to suicide, on Saturday.
Sources said that SI Chandrashekhar had reportedly hanged himself from the ceiling at his in-laws’ house in Sithampet village in Illandakunta mandal. The family members, who found him hanging, rushed him to a private hospital in Jammikunta town, where the doctors declared him dead.
He reportedly took an extreme step, unable to tolerate the death of his wife Divya, who took an extreme step by consuming Oleander seeds on Tuesday. It is reportedly stated that the family members of Divya have alleged that the SI Chandrashekhar was responsible for her suicide and also attacked him.
The deceased SI visited his in-laws’ house to participate in the fifth-day ceremony of his wife Divya, and took an extreme step, unable to bear the torture from the relatives and others. The couple has two sons.
