KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 19, 2026: The Karimnagar district authorities have flouted the norms and selected an inefficient teacher and one having charges for cheating the government for the proposed Exposure and Educational Exchange programmes to foreign countries organised by the Director of the School Education department.
DSE Dr Naveen Nicholas, to enhance the professional competences of educators by providing them exposure to global best practices in school education, it is proposed that approximately 160 participants (in four batches of 40 each) comprising teachers and education officials, will visit Singapore, Finland, Vietnam and Japan, tentatively during the summer holidays.
The DSE also directed the respective District Collectors for the selection of teachers in a transparent and fair manner. He also instructed the respective Collectors to select the teachers who are having clean image in discharging their duties without any allegations and pending inquiries and striving for the development of the government schools in increasing enrolment of students.
However, the district administration has selected D Sridhar, LFLHM, MPPS, Eradapalli, Shankarpatnam mandal, who has been several allegations including cheating the government with false physically handicapped certificate and availing the allowances and also IT exemptions. Following the complaints, the DEO has ordered for an inquiry in the allegations. The inquiry stated that D Sridhar had availed PHC allowances and IT exemption with false certificates, and the SEDARAM camp had clearly stated that the said teacher does not have any physical disabilities.
Following the inquiry committee report, the alleged teacher Sridhar remitted the Income Tax to the government through challans and his PHC allowances were also stopped in his monthly salary. This teacher, who used to promote values and integrity to the students, had resorted to illegal acts and brought disrepute to the education department. The alleged teacher had misused his fake PHC certificate and secured benefits during two transfers, denying the genuine and eligible transfers.
Ironically, then Collector Pamela Satpathy at the instance of then DEO Janardhan Rao had recommended the name of D Sridhar for the foreign tour. This decision has irked the entire teaching community for selecting a teacher with allegations and charges of cheating the government. The aggrieved teachers had also approached the DSE, who also directed the district authorities to change the name of the candidate, but in vain. As they say that the name was confirmed by the then Collector and they will not change.
