KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 07, 20267: A special event was organised by Medicover hospital to raise awareness among women about health issues and felicitated IMA Karimnagar chapter President Dr Akula Shailaja on the eve of International Women’s Day on Saturday.
On this occasion, Dr Shailaja said female health was important as it gauges the parameters of social and economic equality and evaluation of development in a society. She began the conversation by talking about the prevention of cancer and general health check-ups in women. “At this time, while regular health check-up is necessary to prevent diseases, nutritious and fresh food as well as daily exercise is also necessary to stay healthy amidst the busy life. Now, the Government of India is also offering free vaccination for cervical cancer among women, the cause of one of the biggest cancer deaths among women,” she said.
Stating that the women were providing more service to the patients in the hospitals through doctors and nurses, she extended her greetings to the womenfolk on the eve of International Women’s Day.
