People have been denied entry into the premises of the Collectorate with barricades since morning
People had to face umpteen woes to visit the Registration office and a Bank, which are housed on the Collectorate premises
KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 06, 2026: Unprecedented security arrangements for the ‘Praja palana – Pragathi Pranalika’ meeting of the integrated Karimnagar district at the Collectorate auditorium are causing umpteen woes to the visitors to the various offices housed on the premises of the Collectorate, including the Registration office and an SBI Bank.
The state government planned to launch Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika from March 6 and accordingly convened a meeting with officials of the integrated Karimnagar district. In charge Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao will chair the meeting, and other Ministers of the integrated Karimnagar, viz., Duddila Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Government Whip Adi Srinivas, legislators, MPs, Collectors, and SPs of the integrated district will attend the meeting at 3 pm. But overenthusiastic officials have closed the entry since morning.
On the pretext of conducting the meeting, the police officials completely closed the gate of the Collectorate office premises and denied entry to visitors, who were visiting the offices for various works. Several people, who had booked the slots for the registration of lands and houses, were worried lot following the closure of the gate and denying their entry. They were forced to park the vehicles at the upcoming new Collectorate complex in the scorching sun and forced to jump the protection wall to visit the registration office.

Thanks to inefficient officials of MCK, who had converted the parking place into a plantation of trees with barricading in front of the SBI branch on the Collectorate premises and converted the lush green lawns into parking space, the parking woes are innumerable with the increase of vehicular population.
It is necessary to have this much security and restrictions at the Collectorate office, where people would visit for redressal of various grievances, when there are no Naxalites in the district. Even when there was Naxalite movement, then district officials ensured that the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu travelled in open top vehicle after his Alipiri attack during his visit to Karimnagar.
Ironically, now that there are no Naxalites and threat perception, the police officials are overenthusiastic to please the leaders by deploying police bandobust at the cost of the people, the taxpayers. The police presence should be omnipresent in civil dress and be polite with the people while making security arrangements. The police should also give an advisory about the restrictions at the meeting venue well in advance so that the people can plan their work accordingly.
Due to illogical works taken up by the MCK on the premises of Collectorfate for obvious reasons, the traffic woes would be aggravated due to the non-availability of parking places and arrival of hordes of vehicles of district officials and a huge convoy of Ministers. It is high time that the officials should rethink their decision of encroachment of parking and impose several restrictions on visitors to the Collectorate office.
