KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 27, 2026: The 2019 IAS officer Chitra Mishra has assumed charge as the new Collector of Karimnagar district on Friday.
She was born on 15 September 1989 in New Delhi, India. She completed her schooling in Delhi and later pursued B.A. (History Honours) from the University of Delhi. After graduation, she worked as a guest lecturer at Miranda House for nearly three years. Later, she focused fully on preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

She cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2019 with a top rank after multiple attempts. Her journey is seen as inspiring because of her determination and hard work.

She was allotted the Telangana cadre and has served in key positions like Assistant Collector, Additional Collector, and Project Officer at ITDA. Now, she has been appointed as the District Collector of Karimnagar district. She has taken charge and is expected to focus on development, welfare schemes, and effective administration in the district.
Additional Collector Laxmi Kiran, Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai, RDO Maheshwar, AO Sudhakar and other district officials met the Collector and presented her with bouquets.
