KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 25, 2026: The Consumer Club of Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous) Karimnagar organised a Consumer Awareness Programme in collaboration with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to educate students on consumer rights, digital safety, and telecom services on Wednesday.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Professor D. Varalakshmi, who emphasised the importance of consumer awareness in the digital era. She highlighted that students must be informed consumers, especially while using telecom and online services.

The session was addressed by R. Prabhakar Rao, representing TRAI CAG, who explained the role of TRAI in protecting consumer interests, grievance redressal mechanisms, mobile number portability, cyber fraud awareness, and safe usage of telecom services.

T Venkatesh, AGM of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), spoke about telecom services, customer support systems, and responsible usage of communication facilities.
G Srinivas, Department Manager from Jio, also participated in the programme and shared insights on digital connectivity, data usage awareness, and emerging telecom technologies.
The Consumer Club Coordinator, B. Rajani Devi, organised the programme successfully and encouraged students to actively participate and clarify their doubts regarding consumer protection in telecom services.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, making it informative and interactive.
